LOOK OUT FOR THE FIRE TRUCKS!!!!!

I can't believe the stupidity of some folks. I know what you may be thinking; we all do stupid things from time to time and, yes, it is true. HOWEVER, I believe that there are levels of stupidity. I hope that I don't sink to the lowest level in the pit of stupidity that I saw today.

I was walking back to my office building today after eating lunch. I was minding my own business when in the distance I heard the sound of fire trucks. My hearing is not all that great so I knew that they must be close by and to be careful before I cross a street. All of the people walking around felt the same as I did...except for one stupid person!

I know that you may think that he could have been deaf and did not hear the sirens blasting our way. Um...most Deaf that I know are smart enough to look both ways before crossing due to the fact that they listen with their eyes and they are aware of the fact that they need to take this precaution due to the fact that they cannot hear.

However, this person looked and SAW the fire trucks coming his way. He was crossing on a red, when you are supposed to wait for a green. He ran right across the street without care infront of the oncoming emergency vehicles.

Well, we all tensed up! The brakes on the fire trucks squealed, their horns honked, and I heard people cry out, "Oh My God!" I thought that I would see his body fly through the air after being hit by the oncoming fire truck...but he barely escaped.

After the trucks whizzed on by, I looked around. We all looked tense. The lady standing next to me still had her eyes tightly shut. I had to tell her that he made it safely across before she would open her eyes.

I hope that I don't do something as stupid as that. I can understand how we all want to rush here and there, but there ARE times when we need to stop and wait for the traffic of life to pass on by before heading on to where we need to go. May this be a lesson for me, you, and stupid folks all around the world who find this to read.

Thanks for reading this and hope that you have a great day. Feel free to leave me a comment!

Your Nashville Friend,

Thom

Being charitable, I guess that perhaps this guy simply had something on his mind and he wasn't paying full attention. Uncharitably; he was one of those huge ego, big headed guys that always thinks he knows best.

Either way he's a prime candidate for becoming a winner of a Darwin Award !!
